Join us for an evening with world renowned jazz saxophonist Kenny G. With his seamless arrangements and astonishingly long note- holding ability, multi-platinum superstar and Grammy winner Kenny G has enjoyed a constant presence on Billboard’s Top Ten charts for almost two decades. Kenny has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, earning him top honors as the best-selling instrumental artist of all time. In 1997, Kenny G earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for playing the longest note ever recorded on a saxophone. He held an E-flat for forty five minutes and 12 seconds in the Hopkins-Bright Auditorium in New York City. The Jazz, Hip Hop Nutcracker is an original dance theater production created and developed by Momentum Dance Theatre featuring Duke Ellington’s musical version of the holiday classic. Momentum has added hip hop tracks, break dancing, tap and rap and updated the story to reflect young urban audience’s sensibilities. The story shows the power of art to transform and bring hope to young lives. The production features over 30 talented Washington area children and teens trained at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, DC Dance Collective and The Dance Addition of Takoma Park, joining Momentum’s professional company and break dancers Phil Thorne and Sonny Tran.
