Ever wonder what to do with your used but not abused athletic shoes? Join Butterfly Life, a women-only fitness and wellness center located in the Towne Square Center on Union Mill Road in Mt. Laurel, in supporting the Perpetual Prosperity Pump Foundation. This November, Butterfly Life will be collecting used athletic shoes sizes 7 and up to help lift families from poverty.

The Perpetual Prosperity Pump Foundation supports the fight to end hunger in Africa by collecting donated athletic shoes. The shoes are sold in major metro areas of Africa to vendors who in turn create jobs and help improve the quality of life in cities. The proceeds from the sale of the shoes provide training and tools to the poorest rural farmers.

With 600 running shoes, a family in Africa and be provided new irrigation systems, training, seeds, live stock, healthcare and education to pull them from poverty.

3rd Annual Bucks County Holiday TreeFest

The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau spreads their holiday spirit with the announcement of the 3rd Annual Holiday TreeFest opening to the public on Tuesday, November 25th at the Bucks County Visitors Center. Twenty-five uniquely themed trees will be on display though January 10, 2009 in the main gallery of the Bucks County Visitors Center. Each tree is decorated according to a specific theme individually sponsored by a member of the Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau.

The TreeFest kicks off to the public on Tuesday, November 25 from 5pm -7pm with live music from Bob Egan Entertainment. Don’t forget to bring the kids… Santa will be arriving on a fire truck with Mrs. Clause at 6pm and magically turn on all the Christmas lights to the tress with his magic dust!
Through January 10th, local musical talent including local school choirs, orchestras and harpists will join us in the celebration of the holidays. The fun will take place during regular business hours of the visitor’s center from 9am-5pm. On specific Sundays, November 30th, December 7th and December 14th, Santa will join us for pictures from 1-3pm. All family members are invited! On December 14th, Santa will stay for an extra hour and half until 4:30pm to take pictures with your pet!
