Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

In remembrance of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, Dr. Robert Sutton, Chief Historian of the National Park Service, recalls contributions of Americans who left peacetime lives to protect their country in WWII and return to build a modern America. Join veterans and the public to relect on today's world and honor veterans and the public at the Museum, 1700 W. Washington Street, Phoenix.

Wars in Europe and the Pacific brought common cause to Americans in the military and on the home front. Sutton will also describe a new Park Service initiative that will continue to tell the story of the Greatest Generation. “History is about people, not monuments,” he says.

Attending the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day gives visitors an opportunity to experience the Museum’s most popular exhibit, Flagship of the Fleet, the Life and Death of the USS Arizona. The exhibit tells the story of the ship and its link to its namesake. Of special interest is the magnificent fifty-seven piece silver service that features nautical scenes and Arizona symbols and landmarks.
