Falmouth Museums on the Green
Museums
Falmouth Museums on the Green tell the story of the town of Falmouth, Massachusetts through two 18th-century houses that display furniture and fine art, textiles and “curiosities.” Exhibits tell of Falmouth’s 19th-century whaling industry, pre-Civil War medicine (you’ll be happy you live today!) and the life of Katharine Lee Bates, Falmouth-born author of America the Beautiful. The special 2008 exhibit is "Living Off the Land" an exploration of Falmouth agriculture through objects, photos and hands-on activities.
The Museum Visitors Center and Store are located in the rustic Hallett Barn, which is wheelchair-accessible. Free activities introduce visitors to the town and its Museums, and illustrate the connection between our past and the present.
The Falmouth Garden Club maintains three delightful gardens on the Museum grounds — a Colonial-style flower garden, an herb garden and a Memorial Park. Visitors are welcome to picnic in the gazebo or stroll the gardens during daylight hours year-…
