Historical Reenactment & Walking Tour

You can step into history in the Royal Naval Dockyard on a Historical Re-enactment and Walking Tour, offered every Tuesday and Thursday, starting April 16th.  Suitable for all ages, this interactive and educational experience will depict life in the Royal Naval Dockyard in the early 1800s. With a knowledgeable guide and actors (fully dressed in period costume), you will be transported to another time, while learning the historical aspects of breakwaters, fortifications, storehouses, workshops, barracks and much more. Current Exhibitions at Bermuda Arts Centre: Sea Changes - until November 24th

Sea Changes, a new exhibition by three of Bermuda's leading artists, is opening at Gallery One Seventeen on Friday, October 4th.  Sea Changes will include over 70 pieces of art in Oils by Jonah Jones, Watercolours by Charles Knights and Gouache by Christopher Marson. All works are for sale. The show offers plein air paintings from various locations around the Island. The opening reception is on Friday from 5:30pm until 7:30pm at the Gallery located at 117 Front Street. The show will then move to the Dockyard Arts Centre on Saturday, where it will remain on display until November 24th.  The Bermuda Arts Centre is open every day from 10am - 5pm. Current Exhibits at BSoA: Mindframe Photovoice Exhibition - October 4th to October 29th

Mindframe Photovoice Exhibition - October 4th to 29th  A new exhibition is opening at the Bermuda Society of Arts on the top floor of the City Hall on Friday, October 4th.  Mindframe Photo Voice is an exhibition of art and photography by people who use services at Mid- Atlantic Wellness Institute (MWI). Services include mental health, child and adolescent, intellectual disability, and substance abuse. The opening reception is free and open to the public on Friday, October 4th from 5pm-7pm. Botanical Gardens Guided Tours

Enjoy a free Guided Tour of the beautiful Bermuda Botanical Gardens every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, except Public Holidays (weather permitting). Current Exhibits at Masterworks: The Art of Engagement by Sandra Vlock - until October 29th

Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art presents a new exhibit by visiting artist Sandra Vlock: The Art of Engagement, opening on Friday, October 4th.  Sandra designs architectural elements that engage people in a shared experience, inviting social gathering and creating a destination. Her exhibit contains selected representations of her own creative engagement with Bermuda – stories told in sketches and sculpture. Archery Tuesdays at Windreach

Beginner Bridge Lessons: 8 Week Course - starts October 15th

World Heritage Centre Art Exhibit: Bermuda Panoramas by Emile Antoine Verpilleux

The St. George's Foundation has a permanent exhibit of Bermuda landscape murals painted in the 1930's by Emile Antoine Verpilleux for the Anderson family of Ford Motor Company. These large paintings depict an era long ago and are not only of value as works of art, but are of historical and education interest.  These mural have been restored and are exhibited at The World Heritage Centre, St. George This exhibit will be ongoing until further notice. Mysteries and Majesties is a tour of St. Peter's Church held twice weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Bermuda’s British heritage runs deep, but perhaps no place is it more pronounced than at St. Peter’s Church where the history of the British Royal Family drifts through the place like a Sunday hymn. It’s the world’s oldest Protestant Church in continuous use and a vault of priceless cultural treasures spanning 400 years, from King James to Prince Charles. Resilience: Bermudians of African Descent Tour

Resilience: Bermudians of African Descent Tours are led by Kristin White in the town of St. George's, every Wednesday and Saturday.  In 1616, Bermuda became the first English colony to use enslaved Africans, and slavery would continue on this island until Emancipation on August 1, 1834. LOSS (Losing Someone to Suicide) Meeting

Whether your bereavement is recent or many years ago, all are welcome to the LOSS (Losing Someone to Suicide) Support Group on Wednesdays. Running from 5.30pm until 7pm (**UPDATE:  from January 11th, 2017, the meeting time will change to 6pm until 7.30pm) at Solstice in Falconer House each week, LOSS is a self-help support group for those bereaved by suicide. Bonfires on the Beach

Snorkel Park invites you to cozy up to Bonfires on the Beach, every Monday and Wednesday night, starting on Monday, April 15th. The primary message of Narcotics Anonymous is that any addict can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new and better way to live through applying the NA program in daily life. Historical Reenactment & Walking Tour

You can step into history in the Royal Naval Dockyard on a Historical Re-enactment and Walking Tour, offered every Tuesday and Thursday, starting April 16th.  Suitable for all ages, this interactive and educational experience will depict life in the Royal Naval Dockyard in the early 1800s. With a knowledgeable guide and actors (fully dressed in period costume), you will be transported to another time, while learning the historical aspects of breakwaters, fortifications, storehouses, workshops, barracks and much more. WEDCO's Living Arts Guided Walking Tour is back for another season starting on Thursday, April 18th.  Dockyard has inspired artistic expression since it was designed in the early 19th century. Today, the area boasts glass-makers, woodworkers, maritime artists, potters, jewellers and so much more. Join WEDCO's knowledgeable tour guide, a local historian with an eye for art, for an interactive experience learning about the Royal Naval Dockyard’s art history and visit a variety of working studios. Book Signing with Marilyn Steede - October 17th

Join community activist and notable Bermudian, Marilyn Steede, as she launches her debut romance novel, “When Your Body Gets Weak” at the Book Signing with Marilyn Steede on Thursday, October 17th. Current Exhibitions at Bermuda Arts Centre: Sea Changes - until November 24th

This fall, locals and visitors alike can learn about two of Bermuda's most legendary women of colour - and other tales - on a new tour: Bermuda's Untold Stories Honouring Sally Basset offered on Thursdays and Fridays: October 3rd, 11th, 18th and 24th.  The execution of grandmother Sally Bassett, a slave, is an often-told story in the history of Bermuda, even 290 years later.  Highlighting our historical African Diaspora Heritage Trail (ADHT) sites, the tour will take you on an exploration of heritage through Pembroke – sharing stories of former slave and abolitionist Mary Prince, former slave and U.S. Congressman Joseph Rainey and the legal fight for freedom of the slaves aboard The Enterprise, which landed in Bermuda in 1835. Mindframe Photovoice Exhibition - October 4th to 29th  A new exhibition is opening at the Bermuda Society of Arts on the top floor of the City Hall on Friday, October 4th.  Mindframe Photo Voice is an exhibition of art and photography by people who use services at Mid- Atlantic Wellness Institute (MWI). Hamilton Princess Art Tour

The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is proud to introduce, as part of its more than $90M renovation, a public art program throughout the lobby and public spaces in the hotel. The Hamilton Princess Art Tour will take place at 10am every Saturday. Contemporary works are juxtaposed against the historic architectural details and crown molding to enliven the space. The collection includes artists such as Andy Warhol (Queen Elizabeth II, Reigning Queens), Damien Hirst (Cineole), Nelson Mandela (Impressions of Africa, Key & Bars, and Struggle Series), Bansky, and Philippe Decrauzat (Sz), among others. World Heritage Centre Art Exhibit: Bermuda Panoramas by Emile Antoine Verpilleux

The St. George's Foundation has a permanent exhibit of Bermuda landscape murals painted in the 1930's by Emile Antoine Verpilleux for the Anderson family of Ford Motor Company. These large paintings depict an era long ago and are not only of value as works of art, but are of historical and education interest.  These mural have been restored and are exhibited at The World Heritage Centre, St. George This exhibit will be ongoing until further notice. Resilience: Bermudians of African Descent Tour

Resilience: Bermudians of African Descent Tours are led by Kristin White in the town of St. George's, every Wednesday and Saturday.  In 1616, Bermuda became the first English colony to use enslaved Africans, and slavery would continue on this island until Emancipation on August 1, 1834. Join us for a walking tour focused on the stories of people of African descent. Walk in their footsteps and learn of their rebellion, resistance, and resilience. The St. George's Historical Society will host an interactive talk on Caribbean and Bermuda Family Links every Saturday throughout October, starting October 5th.  John William Archer came to Bermuda as a slave and became one of the most successful businessmen in St. George's. But there is a twist to the tale! At this talk you will hear about Rawlins' family history. The family is originally from St. Kitt's Nevis. Current Exhibitions at Bermuda Arts Centre: Sea Changes - until November 24th

Sea Changes, a new exhibition by three of Bermuda's leading artists, is opening at Gallery One Seventeen on Friday, October 4th.  Sea Changes will include over 70 pieces of art in Oils by Jonah Jones, Watercolours by Charles Knights and Gouache by Christopher Marson. All works are for sale. The show offers plein air paintings from various locations around the Island. On Thursdays & Fridays they're featuring Exclusive Trio - a versatile Trio performing a repertoire of Country, Rock, Pop, Motown & Reggae. On Saturdays and Sundays, Hindsight brings Harmonies & Old School Goodies. Jasmine Cocktail Bar & Lounge is open daily from 11am until midnight with Afternoon Tea from 3pm until 5pm.
