The John Marshall Leadership Fellows Program is conducted annually during the spring term under the sponsorship of and administered by the university’s Center for Teaching and Learning.
Applications are accepted each fall for spring cohorts. Full-time tenured or probationary faculty and full-time classified or non-classified staff with leadership aspirations and a commitment to Marshall University are eligible to participate.

Per Faculty Senate Recommendation SR-08-09-36R, all instructors (full-time, adjunct/part-time, TA) scheduled to teach a course that carries the “CT” (critical thinking) designation must complete a CT Professional Development Workshop in advance of teaching the course. (Note: Faculty members who have completed the FYS Faculty Development Institute are approved to teach CT courses; no further training is necessary.) The Marshall University Bands are excited to announce the Marshall Honor Band: Reconnecting. All high school band members and teachers are invited to participate in this free, online event.
This year will feature a completely reimagined experience for students and teachers, including a virtual event hosted on March 26, 2020, and a series of on-demand lessons from our Marshall faculty that can be used at any time.
Marshall has invited renowned composer and educator Robert W. Smith as a featured guest clinician. Focusing on the theme of reconnecting, this year’s special honor band will be a chance for students to connect with music, Marshall, and each other.
Participants will have a chance to rehearse Smith’s new piece, "Portals," in a live, virtual setting. Students will also attend sessions with the Marshall Band Directors as well as masterclasses with our Marshall faculty.

The John Marshall Leadership Fellows Program is conducted annually during the spring term under the sponsorship of and administered by the university’s Center for Teaching and Learning.
Applications are accepted each fall for spring cohorts. Full-time tenured or probationary faculty and full-time classified or non-classified staff with leadership aspirations and a commitment to Marshall University are eligible to participate.
Applicants must have the endorsement of their chair/direct supervisor and dean/vice-president. The final selection of the cohort will be made by senior administrators of the fellows program.
