March Library events On International Women’s Day we welcome author Sue Williams as she discusses the writing of her historical fiction novel, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. This novel celebrates the lives of two influential Australian women, who should have been bitter foes. Together they combined their courage and wisdom to wield extraordinary power and influence behind the scenes of the fledgling colony. One was Elizabeth Macquarie, the wife of the new governor Lachlan Macquarie, nudging him towards social reform and town planning.
