Mindful Hiking

Daily Guided Hike: Explorer or Challenge Level

Outdoor Recreation Events Guests are required to carry water and wear a close toed athletic shoe on either level of hiking. Two levels are offered daily: Explorer Hike: An excellent entry level hike. We take the time to admire the scenery with stops for photos and guide interpretations. This hike is done at a more relaxed pace over a variety of uneven desert terrain. Distances vary between 3-5 miles with an average elevation change of 350 feet. Challenge Hike: These hikes are for experienced hikers.  We hike at an aerobic pace designed to challenge confident hikers.  Trails vary and can include uneven desert terrain, rock scrambling, exposure, slick rock areas, sandy washes and basalt.  Be prepared to hike up to 5 miles with elevation changes.  A great attitude and commitment to the group experience are essential for an exceptional adventure. Note: Check-in 10-15 minutes before departure time. Hikes leave promptly at 8am. À la carte price is $95 per hike. Red Hills Desert Garden Walk

Outdoor Recreation Events This is a very nice, easy walk on a paved sidewalk through St. George city’s demonstration desert garden.  Flowing through this garden is a river modeled on the Virgin River that flows through our community. This walk ends with a short hike over red rock to a high point over the city that offers great views and an opportunity for silent reflection. Registration Required: Yes. Sure to test the endurance of even the fittest, this hike is intense and fast paced with infrequent breaks. Endurance Hikers must have the confidence to move quickly over uneven terrain in an unfamiliar landscape, navigate wilderness trails, steep slick rock, desert washes and rocky terrain. Distance varies between 5 - 8 miles with elevation change up to 1500 feet. Please check with the Outdoor Recreation staff before undertaking this hike if you are unsure.​ Note that meeting time and location for Endurance Hikes differ from the Explorer and Challenge hikes. Kayenta Bike Ride

Outdoor Recreation Events Join a Red Mountain guide for Red Mountain's most popular bicycle ride.  After a leisurely and gradual uphill 6-mile ride through the town of Ivins to the desert community known as Kayenta, we stop at Xetava Gardens, a unique destination coffee house and gift shop.  Take time to browse Xetava's unique gifts or admire local artists' works on display in the community's art galleries and pottery shop.  Shipping arrangements are easily arranged with vendors if you should purchase items too large to carry back with you to Red Mountain Resort.  Also located near Xetava Gardens, is a Desert Rose Labyrinth with a ¼-mile walk into the inner circle and surrounded by appealing metal sculptures.  Experience what makes this ride a guest favorite. Outdoor Recreation Events Guests are required to carry water and wear a close toed athletic shoe on either level of hiking. Two levels are offered daily: Explorer Hike: An excellent entry level hike. We take the time to admire the scenery with stops for photos and guide interpretations. This hike is done at a more relaxed pace over a variety of uneven desert terrain. Daily Guided Hike: Explorer or Challenge Level

Outdoor Recreation Events Guests are required to carry water and wear a close toed athletic shoe on either level of hiking. Two levels are offered daily: Explorer Hike: An excellent entry level hike. We take the time to admire the scenery with stops for photos and guide interpretations. This hike is done at a more relaxed pace over a variety of uneven desert terrain. Distances vary between 3-5 miles with an average elevation change of 350 feet. Challenge Hike: These hikes are for experienced hikers.  We hike at an aerobic pace designed to challenge confident hikers.  Trails vary and can include uneven desert terrain, rock scrambling, exposure, slick rock areas, sandy washes and basalt.  Be prepared to hike up to 5 miles with elevation changes.  A great attitude and commitment to the group experience are essential for an exceptional adventure. Kayenta Bike Ride

Outdoor Recreation Events Guests are required to carry water and wear a close toed athletic shoe on either level of hiking. Two levels are offered daily: Explorer Hike: An excellent entry level hike. We take the time to admire the scenery with stops for photos and guide interpretations. This hike is done at a more relaxed pace over a variety of uneven desert terrain. Distances vary between 3-5 miles with an average elevation change of 350 feet. Challenge Hike: These hikes are for experienced hikers.  We hike at an aerobic pace designed to challenge confident hikers.  Trails vary and can include uneven desert terrain, rock scrambling, exposure, slick rock areas, sandy washes and basalt.  Be prepared to hike up to 5 miles with elevation changes.  A great attitude and commitment to the group experience are essential for an exceptional adventure. Note: Check-in 10-15 minutes before departure time. Hikes leave promptly at 8am. À la carte price is $95 per hike. Red Hills Desert Garden Walk

Outdoor Recreation Events This is a very nice, easy walk on a paved sidewalk through St. George city’s demonstration desert garden.  Flowing through this garden is a river modeled on the Virgin River that flows through our community. This walk ends with a short hike over red rock to a high point over the city that offers great views and an opportunity for silent reflection. Registration Required: Yes. Yoga in Snow Canyon
